In Jewish tradition, when someone does very well at some task or masters a new skill, instead of praising the person by saying "wonderful" or "terrific," that person is praised by saying "kol hakavod leha" which means "you are greatly respected." Kavod (respect) provides the basic value for the way we treat other people. Respect flows from a considerate and tolerant heart.

  KI News September/October 2007
Though people often tell me that they don't know exactly what they believe in, we live lives of faith every day. In fact, we bring a profound and usually unexamined faith to nearly every single aspect of our daily lives. We walk across the street and have faith that the car that is coming will see us and stop. We drive in the center lane of the street and have faith that the cars coming the other direction will stay in their lane and not absentmindedly cross over into ours and hit us head on.
