Every time I think about Golda Meir and the impact she had as prime minister of Israel, or Indira Gandhi and her role as prime minister of India, or Margaret Thatcher and the incredible role she played on the world stage as prime minister of England, I wonder just how many years it will still take until a woman is actually elected president here in the United States. In fact this past year that coveted prize seemed like such a real possibility for Hillary Clinton that it electrified women (and men) all over the world. more >
